Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is one of the important functions in the ADAS system. It is a safety feature that may not be frequently used during normal driving, but if encountered once, it may save the lives of others or yourself. The basic principle of AEB is to detect vehicles, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles on the road through sensors such as radar, cameras, and LiDAR. Based on the calculation of collision time, it determines whether to give an alarm or brake to remind the driver to brake, or actively brake to avoid or reduce collisions. The AEB function is generally divided into three stages: alarm, brake assist, and braking. When the system detects a collision risk, it will remind the driver to pay attention to the collision risk and brake through visual, sound, or vibration methods; But when the driver does not respond, the system will enter the brake pre filling stage. If the driver starts braking at this time, the system will respond faster than usual and assist in increasing braking force; If the system is in the brake assist phase and the driver still does not respond, the system will automatically brake to avoid risks.
